Student Voice and Representation
At Caspian School of Academics, student voice is an important part of how we shape and improve the student experience. We encourage students to actively share feedback, ideas, and suggestions throughout their studies and are committed to listening and responding constructively wherever possible.
Each course normally has student representatives who work closely with academic staff and student services teams to help communicate the views and experiences of their cohort. Alongside day-to-day feedback opportunities, students can contribute through termly module evaluations, course surveys, and Course Committee Meetings (CCMs). In addition, we request our representatives actively participate in our institution-wide Student Committee Meetings (SCMs) held during the academic year.
Our CCM and SCM meetings provide opportunities for students to discuss areas such as teaching and learning, assessment and feedback, learning resources, communication, wellbeing, and wider aspects of student life. Feedback and actions are reviewed by relevant teams to support ongoing enhancement and improvement across programmes and services.
Student Representative Training and Development
Student representatives receive guidance and support to help them carry out their role effectively and confidently. This includes introductory training and practical guidance on gathering feedback, representing student views constructively, communicating professionally, and contributing positively to meetings and enhancement activities.
The representative role also provides opportunities for students to develop valuable transferable skills including communication, teamwork, leadership, organisation, and professional.
Supporting Student Success and Employability
At Caspian, student engagement is closely linked to student success, professional development, and employability. Through participation in student representation, committee meetings, enrichment activities, and wider institutional initiatives, students are encouraged to develop skills and experiences that support future academic progression and career development.
We aim to create an inclusive and supportive learning community where students feel heard, respected, and able to contribute positively to the life of the institution.
