Course Overview

The Business Management BA (Hons) Top-up Level 6 is awarded by the University of Derby and is designed to provide an excellent progression route and develop the knowledge you’ve already gained on your HND or Foundation Degree in business with a further stage of study which results in a full honours degree.

Gain valuable knowledge on the global and strategic management issues, with a focus on the specialist areas of management and leadership. Engage with current case studies and examples, benefit from guest lectures from industry speakers and professional bodies, and develop the skills employers look for in graduate employees to prepare for the workplace – from report writing and analysis through to presentation skills.

As a University of Derby partner student, you will have access to the university’s virtual learning environment, including University of Derby Online (UDO) and online journals and texts, as well as library facilities.

The Business Management BA (Hons) Top-up Level 6 is a progression route from the Leadership and Management HND Level 5.

How CSA will deliver your programme

CSA offers all Level 4 to Level 6 programmes through face-to-face teaching supported by online materials. This gives you the best of both online and on-campus study. You’ll spend a day and a half on campus enjoying the benefits of engaging, hands-on activities during face-to-face sessions. Our flexible approach is ideal if you’re balancing work, family or other commitments but still want to progress in higher education and develop your career.

Online and On Campus – the best of both worlds

Whilst all your timetabled classes will be on campus, working with tutors and with other students, you will have access to additional support sessions online to provide you with individual support and to provide guidance as needed. You will also be able to set up discussion groups online to share ideas and to support any group work that you have to undertake. You will also have access to practice questions, downloadable lesson materials, digital resources and case studies to support your learning.

At CSA, we are committed to supporting you throughout your learning journey. When on campus you will meet regularly with lecturers and tutors who will revisit what you have studied, including the activities and questions that you have been set to complete at home. They will provide you with feedback, additional guidance and answer any questions you may have. You will work with classmates in a friendly, supportive environment that brings key ideas to life.

To make the most of your studies, we recommend setting aside 3-6 hours per week for your independent study time. With a combination of guided contact time and flexible self study, you will experience a learning model designed to fit your life and help you succeed.
