BA (Hons) International Tourism Management with Foundation Year prepares you for a career in one of the world’s most dynamic and internationally connected industries.
The programme combines tourism, business and management learning to help you understand how destinations, travel organisations, attractions and visitor experiences are planned, promoted and managed. You will explore changing traveller behaviour, sustainable tourism, digital innovation, entrepreneurship and the role tourism plays in local and global communities.
The foundation year provides a supportive start to degree-level study. It helps you build the confidence, academic knowledge and practical skills needed to progress successfully onto the honours degree.
CSA delivers Level 4 to Level 6 programmes through face-to-face teaching supported by online learning materials. This approach combines on-campus teaching, tutor support, digital resources and independent study.
You will take part in interactive sessions, group discussions, case studies and practical activities that bring tourism-management concepts to life. You will also have access to lesson materials, online resources and additional academic support to help you progress with confidence.
To make the most of your studies, we recommend that you set aside regular time each week for independent learning, reading and assessment preparation.
The foundation year is designed to help you develop the academic confidence, subject knowledge and study skills needed for successful degree-level study. You will strengthen your research, academic writing, communication, digital-learning and independent-study skills while gaining an introduction to business and the tourism sector.
After successfully completing the foundation year, you will progress directly to Year 1 of the BA (Hons) International Tourism Management degree.
For the Year 1 to Year 3 all modules are set at 20 credits unless otherwise shown.
In your first year, you will explore tourism, hospitality and events as part of the wider visitor economy. You will learn how organisations develop services and experiences, understand tourism’s impact on societies, and build essential skills in planning and managing projects.
