Subject: Hospitality Management
BA (Hons) International Hospitality Management with Foundation Year is designed for students who want to build a successful career in the hospitality and wider visitor economy.
The foundation year gives you time to strengthen your academic skills, professional confidence and subject knowledge before progressing to the honours degree. You will then explore how hospitality businesses create excellent customer experiences, manage operations, lead teams, use technology and respond to changing industry needs.
Throughout the programme, you will develop a strong understanding of hotels, resorts, restaurants, visitor attractions and other hospitality businesses. You will also consider entrepreneurship, sustainability, revenue management, digital innovation and the social and environmental impact of hospitality.
CSA delivers Level 4 to Level 6 programmes through face-to-face teaching supported by online learning materials. You will benefit from tutor-led sessions on campus, independent study resources, digital learning materials and additional support where required.
You will work with tutors and fellow students in a welcoming learning environment, using case studies, practical activities, discussions and group work to bring hospitality management concepts to life. To make the most of your studies, we recommend setting aside regular time each week for independent learning and assessment preparation.
The foundation year is designed to build your academic confidence, study skills and subject knowledge before you progress to the honours degree. You will develop skills in research, academic writing, communication, digital learning and independent study, alongside an introduction to business and the hospitality sector.
After successfully completing the foundation year, you will progress directly to Year 1 of the BA (Hons) International Hospitality Management degree.
For the Year 1 to Year 3 all modules are set at 20 credits unless otherwise shown.
In your first year, you will develop a broad understanding of hospitality, tourism, events and the wider visitor economy. You will explore how organisations create services and experiences for customers while building your skills in planning and project management.

In your second year, you will strengthen your professional and commercial understanding of hospitality operations. You will explore sustainability, entrepreneurship, financial planning, procurement, consumption trends and hotel revenue management.

In your final year, you will apply your learning to strategic and specialist hospitality-management topics. You will complete an independent study and develop advanced knowledge of consumer behaviour, luxury hospitality, innovation and strategic decision-making.
