Course Details

Students will initially enrol in the Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Construction Management. Upon successful completion of 120 credits (typically achieved in the first year of full-time study), students may progress onto the Higher National Diploma (HND) programme. The HND is awarded after completing a total of 240 credits across Levels 4 and 5. For those who complete only the HNC component, the award may be claimed independently. Students who do not complete the full credit requirements may be eligible to claim individual Unit Certificates where applicable. The Pearson BTEC Higher Nationals in Construction Management are designed to provide a coherent progression route into higher education or employment. The Level 5 HND qualification provides greater depth and specialisation, preparing learners for more advanced technical roles or higher level academic study. These qualifications are flexible and can be delivered in full-time,  part-time, or blended learning formats to suit different learner needs and employment patterns. Students are expected to pass all eight units at Level 4 (HNC), although progression to the HND may be permitted with a maximum of one referred unit, as determined by the Assessment Board and subject to Pearson guidelines.

The Pearson BTEC Level 4 HNC in Construction Management consists of 120 credits and is typically completed over one academic year full-time. The HND (Level 5) builds upon this and consists of an additional 120 credits, usually studied in the second year of a full time programme. Students are required to complete a total of 16 units across both levels.
